The selection is presented in the article entitled "Scientifically updated author databases of standardized citation indicators", on authors and citations, published in the journal PLOS Biology, in October, and covers a wide variety of academic areas: 22 scientific fields and 176 subfields.

The evaluation was carried out by a team led by a researcher from Stanford University (USA), who conducted a study of the researchers who stood out for the scientific projection of their research, based on the citation values, according to the accredited database. SCOPUS online.

The article presents two categories: race, which measures the impact throughout the race (with data updated until the end of 2019) and research impact for the year (counted until May 6, 2020). Professor Helena Alves has been included in the research impact category of the year, in which 11 more UBI researchers are mentioned.
