València, 07 November 2025. The Universitat de València presents the premiere of the work Raíces y resonancias, an artistic creation that combines live music, electronics and video about the role of culture as a bridge between science and society. The event, which will take place on Friday, November 7 at 6:00 pm in the Sala Matilde Salvador of the Centre Cultural La Nau, is part of the second edition of the program "Residing in Research", promoted by the Vice Rectorate for Culture and Society.
The project, developed by the research group SIV (Service+Innovation+Value) of the Institute of International Economics of the University of Valencia, explores from art the unsustainability and impacts of cultural tourism, reflecting on how creative practices can become vehicles for knowledge transfer and social awareness.
The work has artistic direction and musical and audiovisual composition by Ignacio Baeza García. The artistic team is completed with Julio Argudo Mielgo (sound design, sound engineering and audiovisual composition), Biel Comas Saavedra (electric guitar player, musical consulting and audiovisual creation) and Uxía Sierra Rouco and Jan Corbella Rigual (bass clarinet players, interpretative and musical consulting). Together, their work integrates sound creation, electronics and audiovisual performance to offer an immersive experience of new creation.
After the performance of the work, a colloquium will be held with cultural and tourism agents, moderated by Berta Tubillejas Andrés, professor at the Universitat de València. Participants will include Álvaro López-Jamar, general director of the Institut Valencià de Cultura; Mari Luz Segarra Taberner, expert in cultural and tourist management of museum spaces; Elisabet Martínez Bonet, visual artist and professor at the EASD València; and Ignacio Baeza, composer and coordinator of the work.
The program will include an institutional welcome by Ester Alba, Vice Rector for Culture and Society, and a presentation of the project by Amparo Cervera, Director of the SIV Group, together with Berta Tubillejas.
