Begoña Giner, researcher at the Institute of International Economics and Professor of Financial Economics and Accounting and currently chair of the Stakeholder Reporting Committee (SRC) of the European Accounting Association (EAA), has been appointed member of the Project Task Force (PTF) to operate the project on the preparatory work for the elaboration of possible EU non-financial reporting standards, entrusted to the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (EFRAG) by the European Commission (EC). http://www.efrag.org/News/Project-434/Appointed-Members-and-Chair-of-the-European-Lab-Project-Task-Force-on-preparatory-work-for-the-elaboration-of-possible-EU-non-financial-reporting-standards-

The appointed PTF incorporates a balanced representation of a wide range of stakeholders with a legitimate interest in non-financial reporting, covering the public sector, private sector, SMEs and civil society from across the EU, in accordance with the EC's request for technical advice. The PTF members have proven expertise in the different topics covered by the NFRD and the requirements of the EC's request for technical advice. There are 35 members of which two represent academia, one of which is Professor Giner.

The project will be operated by the PTF within the European Corporate Reporting Lab @EFRAG (European Lab), and is expected to be completed in early 2021 with a progress report to be published by the end of October 2020. The period of appointment of the PTF is for the duration of the project.
