THE METROPOLITAN ENTITY FOR WASTE TREATMENT (EMTRE) AND THE INSTITUTE OF INTERNATIONAL ECONOMICS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF VALENCIA ANALYZE THE BEHAVIOR OF CITIZENS WITH RESPECT TO WASTE DISPOSAL.
The purpose of the study initiated by the two entities is to obtain information to improve waste separation at source, reduce the volume of waste that ends up in the landfill and focus environmental education actions.

The Metropolitan Entity for Waste Treatment (EMTRE) and the Institute of International Economics of the University of Valencia are working together to analyze the behavior and habits of the citizens of Valencia and its metropolitan area (AMV) with respect to waste disposal. The study that has just been initiated aims to obtain valuable information that will allow the establishment of actions to improve the separation at source of the waste generated in the 45 municipalities that make up the EMTRE and, consequently, reduce the volume of waste that ends up in landfills. With the evidence from the analysis, the entity also intends to focus the awareness and sensitization actions it carries out in the AMV within the framework of its environmental education program "Emtreduca".
